On September 14th a U-15 eSports Challenge Puyo Puyo Champions Cup of Nations tournament for children 15 years old and under will be held at TOKYO GAME SHOW 2019 in Makuhari Messe. Entry is free. Candidates may apply to enter at the Puyo Puyo Champions booth on the day.

Schedule
10:00 – 11:50 Preliminary Registration
10:15 – 12:00 Score Attack Qualifiers
12:15 Results will be announced
12:35 – 13:15 Finals Tournament (Best4)
13:30 – 14:30 Finals Tournament at stage、Celebration

-All Players that have completed play or are in play by 12:00 will be considered entered.
-Results will be announced at 12:15. Please be sure to return to the booth by that time.
-If a Finalist does not show, the Player with the next highest score will take their place.
-Players who are not in the top 16 in the Official Challenge may have a chance to participate, and should come to the venue booth.


How to Register
Players can register at the Tournament venue on the day at the Puyo Puyo Champions Cup of Nations Registration counter. No pre-registration is required.
Failure to register during the Preliminary Registration period will result in ineligibility for the Tournament.
Please note that applications may be closed ahead of schedule depending on the number of applicants on the day.

Puyo Puyo Champions (PlayStation 4, English/Japanese)

Software Version
The latest available version will be used for Tournament play.

Controllers
To ensure fair and equal playing conditions, Tournament organizers will provide controllers.Players are not permitted to use their own controllers.
-Control settings cannot be changed.
-The English version will be used because this is an international tournament, but the game itself is the same as the Japanese version.


Score Attack Qualifiers (Offline)
Players will select the Official Challenge from the Challenge Mode menu and play for 2 minutes twice (2 times).The highest scoring 16 players will be selected to proceed to the Finals.
-If multiple Players in the top 16 have the same identical score, their ranking will be decided based on the combined scores of their first and second plays.If multiple Players in the top 16 have the same identical combined score, Players with the same score will play the Official Challenge (Challenge Mode) once more to decide their ranking.


Finals Tournament (Offline)
The Finals will be a 16-player, Single Elimination-style tournament.

Progression
Each match will be played in a best of 3 formats with the winner proceeding to the next bracket.

Playable Characters
All characters will be playable in tournament play.Players may change their character between matches if they so choose.

Player 1 and Player 2 Positions
Players may not change their seats/positions during a match.
Players ranked 1 – 8 in the Qualifiers will play as Player 1, while players ranked 9 – 16 in the Qualifiers will play as Player 2.

Software used for Tournament play will, in general, be set to Puyo Puyo Champions’ default settings.

Default Wins
If a Player in a bracket is absent, the other wins by default.

Penalties for interrupting Tournament play
The game can be paused by pressing the PS button. Doing so, however, will incur the following penalties (no exceptions).
If the game is paused immediately after gameplay commences and no Puyo are yet in play, the Players will be permitted to unpause the game and resume play.
If the game is paused at any time other than that noted above, the Player that paused the game will forfeit the round.
If a round is forfeited as a result of being paused, the second or third rounds will play out as normal.

The event may be canceled if the organizers deem it too difficult to hold for any reason.
This tournament and we, the organizers, may be covered by the media. Players may be filmed, photographed or interviewed and their information may be publicized. We reserve the right to publicize Players' Usernames (not their real name).
Please note that this event will be recorded and footage or images used for promotional purposes on the official website and social media.
If a Player's Username contains inappropriate language or any form of inappropriate information, we reserve the right to remove said Player from the tournament or ask to them to edit their name.
We, the organizers, are not liable for any personal expenses: transportation, accommodation, etc. incurred, nor any form of damages or injuries inflicted or caused by participating in this event.
The organizers, staff, venue and performers are not liable for any form of accident, theft, etc., that occurs inside or outside of the venue.
Please be sure to follow the staff's instructions when applying for or participating in the tournament. If you are found to be acting in a manner that hinders the tournament in any way, you may be removed from the tournament and escorted out of the venue.
Restrictions and protective measures may be enacted in order to prevent potential accidents or other disruptions.
To help us ensure a safe and fair experience for all, please refrain from arriving at the venue at a time that may be disruptive, such as late at night or early in the morning.
Tournament events may be changed or canceled due to earthquakes, tsunami, floods, wars, riots, acts of God or company-related circumstances. The organizers and management are not liable for any damages caused in the event of this happening.



Puyo Puyo Pro Challenge
Players can challenge a professional Puyo Puyo player in a 1-on-1 match.
Winners and Losers will be posted on a scoreboard.
